at short notice, just log on to teletext hols or onthebeach etc. find half a dozen or so good deals, show your OH, check trip advisor for hotel reviews, decide. book, pack, fk off.

gee wizz you are a lazy one!

With those detailed criteria you should go to a good travel agent,
anything suggestable here is going to be a pot shot which you will have
to expend a fair amount of additional effort to actually execute.

But if it helps, for similar money you could go to Mexico. Bring some tamiflu, mind.

Fly to Nice.

Then choose either:

St Tropez, Cannes or Ste. Maxime.

Spend some days just driving around (to Monaco for example), enjoy great food and wine.

No chavs.

sorted.

Another vote for Nice - good promenade, restaurants, weather. Walk the Monaco GP circuit!

Lagos, Portugal. It's where I'd be off to if I weren't going to Thailand.

Think I might go over next year actually.

Got back from Lagos last week. Quite a lot of renovation going on at the square near the fort, but didn't affect the holiday. Always a great place for a quick getaway to the sun. smile

Los cristianos in Tenerife. Some good restaurants but no mental bars or clubs so its a nice place to hang around. Fantastic beach. nice hotels, try getting in Reveron plaza 4* hotel overlooking the church in the centre (it has a rooftop adults only swimming pool) http://www.reveronhotels.com/ing/index.htm. Just make sure you book the plaza, there are other apartments called reveron in los cristianos that you dont want to stay at as they are out of town.

If you want nightlife a 5 min taxi ride puts you in las americas with hundreds of clubs, bars etc.

For a good deal try booking the hotel via ASDA travel. No seriously I have used all sorts of trvel websites over the years, last year they were £50 cheaper than anyone else for the same hotel. Book flights direct with monarch to tenerife.

e.g. Fly out on 23rd Aug, return on 4-sep (ok thats 12 days but those are the cheap flight days!)

2 x Adults, return flights = £552 including all taxes www.monarch.co.uk

1 x Room hotel reveron plaza 4* £753.89 www.asda-travel.co.uk

Total price £1305 leaving lots of beer money .....

Lagos is great, I usually rent an apartment near Dona Ana beach.

Good nightlife and restaurants and enough stuff to see/do in the day. I've been there 3 times now and wish I was off there this year really!
