flying to Bangkok via Dubai with Emirates........
Discussion
.....In two weeks time,I chose Emirates due to reccomendations about their service. I have just been informed by a friend, that as we are flying via Dubai, the plane will be dry for the duration of the flight, therefore I have seven hours of complimentary........soft drinks!
Anyone know if this is in fact the case?
Thanks

Ramadhan.
You may have issues with food/drink, I know Etihad are changing their on board catering due to this.
I flew Etihad during Ramadan and there was no issue at all. Plenty of alcohol. I don't drink much on long haul flights so didn't worry me either way, but I don't see it being an issue You may have issues with food/drink, I know Etihad are changing their on board catering due to this.
Did that jaunt 2 years ago with no troubles.
Used them again in April and again plenty of alcohol available.
Ramadan MAY make a difference, but I'd be surprised.
Oh...and alcohol IS prohibited in Dubai, at least in public places. Hotels and clubs get around it somehow - not sure whether by license or just the usual 'blind eye' that they permit the expats until the expats go too far...

No it's not. It's controlled more carefully, but not prohibited.Erik Estrada said:

Emirates will have plenty, don't worry!
However, after my trip in Feb, they are no longer my fav airline.
And most hotels in Dubai have bars!
Mind if I ask why? the airline part, not the hotels in Dubai bit...However, after my trip in Feb, they are no longer my fav airline.
