Thinking of planning a trip in Jan/Feb 2010. Preferably a beach holiday with some stuff(?) near by to do. Anyone been or got any recommendations?

Why a beach holiday in CR? It's a rainforest/volcano kind of place, not somewhere I would go for a beach holiday as such. If you wanted to go to C America for a beach holiday I'd go to Belize.

I have been to Costa Rica for a holiday but it's not really beach holiday stuff.

There is great mountain biking routes, some serious quad biking, big game fishing depending on the time of year, Riding/sliding through the rain forest canopies, river trips for Crocodiles.

It is full of a lot of North American single old men pulling/paying young underage girls for illegal sex.

And Costa Rica is not cheap, and a long way to go for a beach holiday with other much better place to go in the world.
