Skiing "place" that's great to drive to in Europe?
Discussion
I've finally given in to the O/H's pestering and agreed to go skiing in Dec/Jan.
Now I hate skiing, but I love driving. So that's the deal. We go skiing as long as I choose the destination and we take the car. I'm looking for one of those cliched Euro drives; all beauty and fairytale countryside.
So the question is, where in Europe shall we go? It has to be somewhere where I can have a couple of days at ski-school to satisfy the boss. Other things to do would be a bonus also.
Ideally, a chalet with a heated indoor pool would be perfect; not sure whether this is likely though (yes, I do know nothing about skiing
).
I'd prefer not to go to France as I fancy a longer drive.
Any ideas?
All help gratefully accepted!

stunning location and apartment in a laid back resort with enough nightlife to be fun, but enough roads nearby to hoon around.
you will miss out on a LOT of the best roads which will be closed due to snow
