What is required to connect when camping in France.

I've been on several different sites in France. Most have the connection in your second picture, but at least one had the top one.

I've camped in several European countries and have a bag full of anything I might need to be on the safe side now after several frustrating trips to shops to get things with a language barrier.

So, sorry about being not too helpful but I'd take both! Take plenty of extensions too as sometimes electric is not on your pitch.

I have an adapter, but I've only used it once...

Most just have a bog standard sockets,mine does.

I stayed at two campsites this summer, and we only needed the connection in your first picture. We did stay in a couple of places in Spain that needed another adaptor though.
