Where to stay in majorca?
Discussion
Hi guys,
Looking at getting an apartment next year (last week of august) in Majorca.
Hoping to spend between £300 - £400 for the week (excluding flights, just for apartment). But I don't really know where is a nice place to be?
I know to avoid Magaluf (having been there myself as a young whipper snapper
).
We are after somewhere in a nice setting (close to sea), plenty of walkable bars / restaurants. Not too many brits (may be hard). There are 2 of us, no kids.
Santa Ponsa looks nice and has some affordable places but write ups appear that its quite like magaluf.
Any thoughts / recomendations / anyone got a place they want to rent
Thanks

I would aim for Pollenca / Puerto Pollenca. They are far removed from Shagaluf & are genuinely nice places to visit, with good restaurants, nice beeches etc. Apartments in theser places tend to be a little more expensive, but you'll get the extra cost back in spades by not being anywhere near the hoardes of pissed up chavs.
wherever you go make sure you haed http://www.worldcruisingguide.net/index.php?area_i... for supper- it really is very special if a bit different.
ask for the flaming coffee and just have the lamb shoulder. For about 10 years they only served one dish- wish it was still that way!
