I'm thinking of taking the better half to Scotland in November for a week of good food, drinking, great scenery, relaxing and windy walks.

Any suggestions as to where? I'd prefer to drive, not too expensive (maybe £400 - 500 for hotel for 5 - 6 nights).

We stayed here (just outside Inverness) in January. We were the only people there. Was like being Lord of the Manor with your own staff. Log fires, Whiskey menu, very comfortable rooms, storming breakfast. We had a very good time.

For good food go to Plockton - three brilliant restaurants in a very small village. Stay at the Plockton Inn or the Plockton Hotel. They have a fantastic website for the town - www.plockton.com - You won't regret it.
