Here's the plan: Get up dead early on Friday am, leap in the camper van, fire off down to Folkestone, cross the chunnel on the first available shuttle, drive for say 3 hours from Calais to a pretty little town/village where we can chill out, wander round the market on Saturday, eat a decent meal, drink wine / eat cheese / catch rays, and then come home on Sunday. If there's some historical attraction (Chateau?) nearby then so much the better. Van is fully self-contained, so we can happily use Aires rather than full-on campsites.

We know all the places we know, if you see what I mean, but I'm open to suggestions from the PH massive for somewhere that you know that maybe we don't. Picturesque towns, nice markets, good restaurants are what turns us on. Sizzling nightlife we can manage without ....
