Monarch airline are charging more for exactly the same flight if you book when abroad instead of in England.
My son is in Malaga and intends to come home on the 8/11/09, my wife and I decided to fly out for a week(1/11/09 to 8/11/09) then we can all come back together on the same flight. Our return leg is £39.99+ £14.99 tax. If I try to book a flight for my son I have to pay in Euros and they want 53 euros + 19.97 tax, that's an exchange rate of about 135/100, at the moment it's 110/100.
Even if my son was to book a return flight from Malage to Manchester(8/11/09 to 15/11/09) it would still be the same price, his return leg would be 6 euros + 38.77 tax.
To fly from Manchester to Malaga on a return ticket on the 15/11/09 would be £2.99 + £29.90 tax (for the first flight).
Which ever way you look at it they are converting £1 to about 1.35 euros. Can they do that?

They can charge whatever they like. It's quite common for travel fares to be different depending on where they are booked from. An exchange rate is a price like any other - you'll get better prices some places than others.

When I asked them why I couldn't pay in pounds They gave me some guff about it being dearer because I was buying 1 ticket. But even if you get a return ticket from Malaga to Manchester it's still more expensive.
If you buy a one way ticket from Manchester to Malaga it's the same price as if you were to but 2 tickets, 1 outbound and one coming back.
