OK, tied to school holidays now so resigned to paying stupid prices but can anyone suggest where's worth going mid-April next year?

We're going to Florida/Carribean later in the year so ideally don't want to go as far.

I'm after somewhere interesting with places worth visiting, my wife wants somewhere hot and the kids just want to mess about round the pool...

Crete - lots of ruins; Samarian gorge; beaches - very South in Greece so weather good then.

The Gambia.

It's 6 hours away. It's hot and it's laid back.

I stayed here last May.

Downside is there's not much to do outside of the hotel. But if you only want sun and pool, then it's fine.

I plan to return next May.

Muscat, Oman. 7 hours direct flight. Definitely the anti-Florida.
