Milan - any recommendations?
Discussion
Any recommendations for places to go / things to see for a guy on his own in Milan during November?
I'll get the obligatory
and
out of the way!
I'm out there for a fortnight with work from Sunday and will be on my tod for the majority of the time and really want to avoid sitting in a hotel room most evenings notching up my PH post count!

Monza isn't far away, go and take a look at the banking, if it's something you've never done before.
I haven't and I will - great suggestion. I didn't realise it was so close.http://www.vedovaticorse.com/public/index.php?/Eve...
I can't read Italian but I think I may have just filled one of the Sundays out there!
I was there in July, and as a touristy place wasn't hugely impressed.
Tried getting out to the Certosa at Pavia, but the train service just ruined our lives.

They are fond of selling Tennent's Super, so that'll help pass the time. The square with the columns was quite cool at night in the summer, jazz quartet, juggler and accoustic guitarist. Not sure it'll be the same in Novmber though!
Bologna is a few hrs away on the train, so might be a decent way of spending the weekend. I thought it was far nicer.

Milan itself isn't wonderful for tourist stuff, but you do have direct links to a lot of places.
Recommend:
Como (seaplanes off the lake)
Bergamo (old town)
Pavia (agree Certosa is nice, but it is difficult to get to without a car)
Genova (Genoa)
For the evenings -
Corso Garibaldi has lots of restaurants
Navigli area
Via Brera.
All have good bars.
Other area is on Corso Sempione, but it isn't near any metro stations.
Check out if there are any concerts (via ticketone or listicket), lots of UK bands play in Milan.
Getting tickets for the San Siro to see Inter / Milan is easy enough to do on the day.

I really enjoyed walking round Milan, but then I don't like touristy places.
Como is essential, and only an hour on the train. The Brera area behind La Scala was good for eating out when I was there a few years ago, but obviously things may have changed since then.
It's full of hot women too!
