Quite fancy driving north between Christmas and New Year. I'd like to end up in denmark, hopefully at aalborg but happy to stop anywhere that the boys can either ski, tobogan or do something tp wear them out.

searching the web i cant seem to see anything regarding winter activities, are they all hibernating

Has anyone done this type of trip?, and can they advise what the driving conditions are like, pifalls etc.

I'll be driving the Toaureg, any advice gratefully recived.

I'd go Harwich to Esbjerg ferry then Hjorring to Kristiansand. Denmark's nice but Norway will guarantee you all the snow you want! When you get to Kristiansand ask locally and they'll point you to what's going on. I'd advise investing in a set of full winter tyres as well, I favour these:

You do realise that it the landscape between here and Denmark (and in Denmark) is pretty flat, and no more guaranteed snow than the UK, don't you? To ski first and then end up in Aalborg, you would need to cross Denmark, take the ferry or the Malmo bridge to Norway and drive some way up into into Norway, before turning round again and returning to Denmark. That's a bit like going to Norfolk and calling in to the Alps for some skiing "on the way".
