planning well in advance, but we would like to make our next holiday a bit of a roadtrip! (i say "we", meaning i)
my wife would like a week in a hotel, somewhere sunny, she's mentioned south of france and italy, i'd like to drive there (probably an overnight stop on the way) then on the return journey visit the 'ring, and something else car-related. been thinking of something like the col de turini or stelvio pass type roads (on days like these playing to complete the cliche ) even better if we could take in some tunnels, or maybe the monaco gp tunnel?
so, any ideas? hotel recommendations, roads, museums, stopovers for a day, things to see, routes to take?
one of us needs to buy a new car before then, mine would be like taking a lancaster bomber, hers wouldn't make it over an alp!
