Christmas and New Year flights - Book now or wait?

Peeps, am looking at making two holiday trips - one to Bratislava fro a long weekend just before Christmas, and one to HK for New Years, and then buggering off into SE Asia for two weeks, returning via HK.

Bratislava is about £250 return with Ryanscare, and HK is £680 with Cathay - are these prices going to go up or down nearer to the time - or am I just going to end up stranded in the UK?

Never done last minute flights before, so appreciate the help!

Ryanair flights most likely to get more expensive. I would avoid Ryanair if you can - fly to Vienna instead!

I have been to SA a few times over the new year and have found that from past experiance (with BA) prices only seem to increase as you move closer to the date.

I've even booked a flight 6 months in advance and that worked out cheaper.
