Anyone know where to get a good fly/drive deal?

Recomendations on where to stay and what to see? Most of the hotels seem to be around Reykjavík, Is this the best place to set yourself up to see the most? Only planning 3-4 nights there.

Thanks.

Stayed there for a stag weekend a few years ago, one night in Reykjavík which was great, but booze was staggeringly expensive then we stayed in a wood cabin on the coast further to the East. From there we have a 4x4 truck / van thing which took us to a waterfall for some great pictures and then up a local peak for messing about on skidoo's.

We finally finished in the blue lagoon and admired tall slim blonde ladies in bikini's.

Looking at similar myself. Iceland Express do cheap flights but car hire seems expensive.

Thats what you call a hire car! biggrin

Inspired by the Sigur Ros DVD. smile

The hotels are all in the capital mainly, and it'll be the only place to find acccomodation during the winter as the rest isn't really accessible. It happens in and around Rekjavik.

Well worth going though and theres a few threads on here I believe.

I used this company for a trip who were excellent -

The guy who owned it was a survival expert too which gave us confidence when we were driving to the top of a glacier in a blizzard and couldn't see a thing !!

The golden triangle is a popular tour at that time.

Always someone to piss on my chips! frown

I guess I'll look further into what there is to do before deciding whether to still go January or save it for some longer daylight hours. Thanks. smile
