Anyone been there? Going up there just after xmas day with my partner's family...looks good on their site, any tips/info gratefully received.

It's pleasant enough. The Midland region of the Bentley Drivers Club use it for several events each year, the annual dinner dance and the AGM and Christmas dinner etc.

Yes, stayed there a lot for work.

Staff reasonably helpful, the rooms vary a lot in quality depending upon where they have put you and there are some steep sections to the general location (i.e. to get to the restaurant from the lower rooms) so not good if you have disabled / old guests.

They have a lot of speed humps on the approach roads so take care with your P&J (also there are a number of speed cameras on the main roads if you are approaching from the south - keep your eyes peeled.
