Paris for New Years
Discussion
I spent New Years in Paris with my (then)OH a couple of years ago. Joined the crowds under the Eiffel Tower for midnight. Get there early. We sat on the grass at the Parc Du Champs du Mars and had a great view but as you can probably imagine there's people everywhere. After midnight had "struck" we walked down to the Arc De Triomphe and the road was like a circular car park and everyone honks their horns in celebration and hangs out their cars/sunrooves, it's a great atmosphere.
Have fun!

Brilliant. I did this a few years ago.
Took GF, got her ex to have the kids, booked into a great hotel and swanky dinner for NYE.
At midnight all around us chaps were gettting down on one knee.
I waited till the tables either side of us were done, turned to her, smiled, and said "Honey....this Steak is bloody great."
Look on her face still makes me smile, (we are still together).

Love Paris.. Great city.. Cafe Angelina for some hideously expensive brunch and take a look for Jardin d'ivy for a meal out one night. International food guide in the other forum might have some other ideas too..
Ah, and plenty to see in the city too ;-)
have their hot chocolate, it's to die for. Literally, so rich you have a heart attack looking at it!Ah, and plenty to see in the city too ;-)
Try one of the Le Relais de l'Entrecote restaurants for dinner one night - you cant book, but they move people through quite quickly. Always full of the French so must be good. We went to the one in St Germain.
Also, wander up the Champs-Elysées one day and have a look in both the Citroen and Renault showrooms - your girlfriend will prolly think you're mad but they are quite different from what you expect. The Renault one also has a quite stylish cafe for lunch as well.
Enjoy. I love Paris, though it is expensive!
