Hello All slightly long-winded but please bare with me....

Dad has pretty much retired and has had some cash from a matured investment.
Kindly he wants to use some of it for a ''Holiday of a lifetime'' for our whole family.

Who's going? 10 of us;
Dad + Partner,
Sister + BIL + their two girls (will be 5 & 7)
Me + SWMBO + 9 year-old girl + 15 month-old baby

Ages at time of travel so to speak..

We're all into yachts/sailing and enough of us are suitably qualified for a charter.
So first thought was charter a yacht for a 2 weeks, job done! Or so I thought....

We'd need a 50 footer and that's be £5K per week and flights not included
Also I think the novelty might wear-off for the little'ns after a few days and there's some sort of mutiny! so next thought was a week on a boat and a week doing something else....

Sunsail have closed their watersports base in Antigua apparently, and we wanted to be in the BVIs anyway. we have found a place called the Bitter End yacht club which seems to be basically the same thing as sunsail but perhaps on a smaller scale.

Any ideas? We wanted a balance between activities and chilling and are open to ideas for the week off the boat.

As for accommodation, a hotel might work out much more expensive than a villa with 10 people for a week. That said a villa would leave us needing to organise all the activities ourselves so that too has its drawbacks....

My Sister and I have been pretty much left to it to plan, but wanted to make sure Dad has a good time too as he'll be paying the vast majority of the cost.
He's into diving, fully PADI'd up and the BVIs are not the best spot for this, though they are widely regarded as the best in the world for sailing.

He's been to Bequia in the Grenadines before and had the time of his life sailing and diving so maybe somewhere like St Vincent as a base? Has the advantage of direct flights from LGW also...

It's not going to be easy to keep everyone happy for two weeks and Sis and I desperately want to avoid any conflicts.

Budget is about £15K maybe a bit more from the two of us if helps... Sounds healthy enough but with flights around christmas likely to cost the thick end of £8K it seems a bit less.
The other PITA will be getting from one area of the caribbean to another, maybe we just need to fly to and out of a single place? but this would rule out BVIs as I hear they can only be accessed via Antigua and Puerto Rico.

Thanks very much in advance for your suggestions!

Cheers - Nico

not sure about trying to entertain ankle biters on a boat for 2 weeks, granted 2 weeks in one place might be a bit much. How about 4 days in florida to amuse the little ones before flying onto one of the islands for some R & R at a resort that has kiddie clubs so the grown ups can chill out
