Me and the Mrs are thinking of going here for a couple of days obviously paying a visit to the concentration camps. Has anyone here been? We would rather book everything as a package but there doesnt seem to be many companys doing this kind of thing.

Yep did it a few years ago. We stayed at the Hotel Copernicus in Krakow which is lovely and perfectly placed next to the castle. We used Kirker Holidays for our booking and they organised a car and guide for both Auschwitz and the salt mines. When you go to Auschwitz make sure you also go to Birkenau - it is a five minute drive away. Also make sure you get a private guide and don't get herded onto one of their group tours - also worth bearing in mind you can't go in without a guide.

Krakow is lovely, make sure you explore smile

agree - fantastic place

Auschwitz trip is a very memorable one. Think it cost about £!5 for a 6 hour tour in total.
Easy to book, just ask the hotel.

Agree. Get your hotel to book a private tour. They'll take you from Krakow to the camp (90 min drive) in a Merc E or S class.

Don't go on the bus tours. And make sure you visit Birkenau.
