Booking Train tickets online :(

Just spent 30 minutes on Virgins site booking 2 train tickets. Duting which the tickets I had started to book became unavailable, then became availabe with different seats (same coach) but at £5 more! I suspect a conspiracy. Tried to book the same journey at the original price on the 'trainline' and that came up as unavailable so had to go back to Virgin and pay the extra £5.

How can the price change in a matter of minutes?
