Flying home from Tampere > Helsinki > Heathrow all via Finnair

Flight from Tampere > Helsinki running late so miss the connection, get offered to stay in Helsinki and take the morning flight, but I refuse and they get me on a BA flight later on that day.

My luggage did not make the BA flight as there wasnt enough time to offload and put it on, this was on Saturady so no issues it will be on the later flight and be couriered across like last time, so fill out the missing bag report at heathrow as per usual.

On sunday when its supposed to fly was told it was and would be ready for monday, monday comes and goes and its still missing and they assure me tuesday (today) but are not sure if its in Helsinki of London.

Tuesday is not looking hopeful as I have had no contact with them and will ring when I get home.

What are the options now, I have travel insurance with HSBC Plus account, but not wanting to claim until Im sure its lost.

Do I wait til the end of the week and then claim or should I put pressure on BA to sort it out? After all BA said when they took over the replacement flight the luggage is their responsibility now and not Finnairs.

have you tried the online track and trace?

http://www.britishairways.com/travel/baggen/public...

bags can take upto 5 days (from experience) to make it to where they need to be so I (personally) would hold off trying to claim for total loss, however your travel policy might allow a payment for delayed so could be worth a call... depends how bored you are I guess smile

good luck finding your stuff

Yep the luggage has been on route (flying) to Heathrow for 3 days now.
