As per title! I went to the Melbourne Grand Prix in 2008 and want to go to another this year, not as far away though so preferably Europe-ish. Which is the best GP to go to? For location, track, vacationing area, hotels etc.

SPA all day every day, by far the best European GP circuit, if not the best full stop. Me and my old man are going again this year. Bloody ace!

I heard Spa wasn't very accessible for getting a decent view? Can't get access all around the track?

Spa, Monaco or Monza - however, if you fancy seeing all living World Champions, get yourself over to Bahrain in March. smile

the trick is to get there on friday, and come race day get up early and watch all the pre racing. Au rouge is the place to be..... had a crane last year that was charging for time up there (Has a basket that you can view from, i did not investigate too much though as we where getting stuck into bottles of spitfire we had bought!) at au rouge, got to see the start finish straight and then beyond au rouge....

I think me and the old man spent about 650 all in for 3 days, inclu crossings and such. (we camped btw)

As an event, not just the race, then Abu Dhabi was pretty good IMO.

I heard that was very good too from a friend who was working there.

Would love to do Monaco myself, but not sure if I could justify it to the shareholders. wink

I bet Turkey is pretty cheap and flights won't be much.

Yeah I was thinking Turkey for the low cost. Obviously Abu Dhabi looks fantastic but might be a little too expensive!

Might be cheaper than you think.

Lots of hotels, lots of cheap flights, etc. It's an area of the world heavily promoting tourism right now, so it's actually quite a cheap place to go.

Worth a look, at least!

Monaco is lovely - great hotels and restaurants. Very pretty place indeed.

Not very cheap but the place has plenty of glamour.

Yeah I think Monaco is almost a little too "been-there-done-that" for me, as I've been there many times, walked the track etc (albeit not when the grand prix is on!) and think it might be good to go somewhere new...

Went to Spa last year, had awesome seats looking up Eau Rougue cracking atmosphere all weekend, definately recommended.

I've done most of the European circuits that appeal so looking to go further a field this year, anyone done the Malaysian Grand Prix? Thinking of combining with a holiday as its a bit far to go for a long weekend.

Already booked turn one tickets at the Malaysian GP and will do the SIngapore GP again this year once they release tickets.

Hopefully Malaysia will be a full race this year but at least i get to see Schuey in the wet!!!

Not sure where to sit this year at the SG GP.............Padang was good but too close to the circuit...........although XJSJohn had some awesome tickets judging by his pics!!!
