Considering Croatia for a fortnight around June

What are prices like out there compared to home for the usuals (meals, beer, wine?)

Can anyone recommend a particular area - looking for somewhere thats a sort of halfway house, so not a Ayia Napa clone, but not too rural either?

Thanks

I stayed in Dubrovnik, which I can recommend. Prices about the same as home.

I'd recommend Dubrovnik as the halfway house you're after too. I was in Croatia in October and the prices are broadly similar to the UK for eating out, beers etc though you should find good accommodation pretty cheaply.

I'd also recommend a trip to the stunning island of Hvar! Take the ferry from Dubrovnik and spend a couple of days there!

The drive along the coast from Split to Dubrovnik is good fun too. Some stunning scenery combined with mad local drivers make for an entertaining trip smile

Stayed on the island of Brac in Bol for ten nights in July last year.

Lovely place, did day trips to Dubrovnik and Split, sailed over to Hvar.

Food and drink expect UK prices, temperatures last mid July hit 40 degrees.

Fantastic dry local white wines from the Dalmations to try.
