Caribbean in september/october
Discussion
Hello chaps,
The lady and I are after 2 weeks all inclusive somewhere in the caribbean in sept/oct time for around £850ish max. Though from what i've read these are the worst two months due to general rainyness and potential for hurricanes? Would it be that bad? The rain is less constant and more sporadic and intense i have heard.
I have mainly been looking at the Dominican Republic, as it seems pretty good value for money.
Any advice is welcomed, thanks.

We went to Barbados in late September 2008 and had a fab time. We were pretty lucky with the weather though. It'd rained for several days before we arrived and on our first few days it rained a little bit everyday, but it soon cleared up everytime and just gave us an excuse to sit in the bar!
During Sept and Oct it WILL rain, sometimes A LOT pretty much anywhere in the Caribbean. There is the chance of hurricanes, but this is generally lower the further south your go. Barbados is generally pretty safe, not been a direct hit for over 27 years now.
Personally, I'd look for either St Lucia or Barbados. I have been to Cotton Bay Village in St Lucia, very nice, near Rodney Bay, the prices are generally good for a suite (they are the cheapest rooms). If you have 850pp to spend then you could look to rent a great house in Barbados with your own pool and housekeeper... Ahem ... mine might be available for rent at the moment ...

Myself and the other half went to Barbados the start of septemeber last year for 2 weeks. We where told when we got there that there had been very heavy rainfall the day before we arrived but there was no signs of that. The weather was fantastic for 12 of our 14 day trip, clear blue skies every day. Only on the last 2 days did it rain.

Arfur I used to get the Suzuki up to the doors in mud when cotton bay or shall a say Cas En Bas was just a wild beach and only just do able by 4x4 when I lived there in the late 90's.
Do you no Beth that runs the Kit Surfing ?.
I lived in Cap last winter but not managed to swerve it this year.Ami Winehouse was living Cas En Bas last year causing bother.
Spinnakers Bar owners are good friends of mine you may know them to.
2 weeks all-inclusive in the Carribean for £850 pp max?! well, possibly but I reckon it'll be Dominican Republic or Mexico, no? Spent two weeks at Crystal Cove (St James's Barbados) late October 2009 and it is fantastic. Read the reviews! However, it'll cost £3700+ for 2 of you. It is a great hotel and the waterskiing os included in the price (most hotels charge extra for this). Maybe there are deals around but check out the general prices before you settle on a place. Remember, if its in the Carribean and its cheap, there's a damn good reason why!
