After talking about holidays all morning with a mate and his OH, the missus and I have decided that we are going to take an extra holiday in June this year to somewhere quite touristy!

The plan is that I pick a destination and hotel, she does the same and we have a "wildcard" destination suggested to us. We are gonna chuck them in a hat and the one that comes out is where we go.

So, any suggestions? Budget is £300pp give or take, as we are going elsewhere this year too, this is just a little treat!

Whereabouts were you thinking in general? Europe etc...

I don't think we'd get much further than that for the money, and we're off to Barbados at Christmas so not too bothered about Carribean.

Saw your edit, I am thinking Turkey, missus hasn't suggested anywhere yet. But that is the beauty of the wildcard, it could be anything smile

A few years ago now, the then OH and myself spent a week walking the South-West Coastal Path, staying at B&Bs en route.

it was great fun and enabled us to stop at all the different touristy places: Swanage, Lyme Regis, Brownsea Island etc.

Also burning off calories walking meant we could indulge in hearty pub food and not put on weight.

Turkey will bring you in on budget if you aren't expecting 5 star luxury.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. I'm not too keen on going to a place like Marmaris though, looks a bit, ahem, chavvy!

Depends how random you want to go I guess.
Mate and I did Croatia's Dalmatian coast in October and that would be a great choice and on budget.
Turkey is a good shout too.
Maybe Morocco - very cheap flights to get there and accommodation isn't too expensive.
A real leftfield suggestion might be somewhere a little less touristy like Slovenia? smile

yes Sharm is VERY touristy but the water makes up for every single bit of it (well, except maybe the Russians... wink ). Or try one of the quieter nearby resorts...

Dahab wouldn't be a bad shout for Egypt if you can find a good quality AI option smile

Take the oppurtunity to go somewhere in the Uk you both have never been before. It will be pretty quiet out of school hols and you can get some pretty good deals.

Isle of Man

Didn't properly read the criteria (re: dates, etc) so might not be at all suitable. smile

But if it is, it's great.

EDIT: Just read your OP. Ignore me. wink
