I'm meeting up with a group of friends for a weekend in Belfast on Friday and have four hours to kill before they arrive (I get there around 2:00pm and them around 6:00pm). Aside from sitting in a pub for four hours does anyone have any suggestions for things to do in Belfast?

I've never been, but there was a feature on TV last week about a cab tour of the main areas affected by the troubles.
Looked quite interesting.
Harland & Wolff shipyard - builders of the Titanic.
And then the pubs.....

As I'm meeting a group of lads for a stag weekend the four hours before we meet up will definately be the calm before the storm. Must be getting old as I want to try and do something cultural before the drunken carnage starts.

I could join you too!

Anyway, there are several tours - either by black cab or bus. The city centre is quite small so going for a walk around it will only take up about 15 minutes.

We have a smaller version of the London Eye, not as good though.

We do have some very nice pubs though, The Garrick is good (think old mans pub) or if you like people watching get a window seat in the Apartment (poncy place), Morrisons is also quite good.

If you are so inclined I think there is a new mens barber type place that does wet shaves etc

I'd probably head to the pub to be honest as it's likely to be cold out!

Jump in a taxi and head to the folk and transport museum http://www.nmni.com/uftm

One part of the museum is old buildings from Ireland rebuild as a town and the other is dedicated to transport, old trains, delorean, vintage cars, bikes, motorbikes etc.

It's about 15-20 mins away and if you're into vehicles you will love it.

If not head to the crown and get pissed..

Go to the Ulster Museum which is beside Queens University.Nice area close to the city centre.Recently reopened and not at all stuffy. The Folk and Transport Museum is not viable in the time you have available but the Folk section is great for a wander around so you can try it on your next visit.

I got there around two and spotted The Crown right opposite the bus station. At that point all my ideas of sightseeing or cultural activities went out of the window and I started drinking until six, when I met my mates and continued the drinking.

I thought Belfast was alright, but if I'm honest it is a bit too small and what's the point of a stag do in a city without lap dancing! Nice pub culture though.
