Hello

I am currently in Italy at my grand parent's place. They are too old to drive now and therefore I have to rent a car when I come over. I am thinking of spending more time here this year and this got me thnking about cars - obviously! So if I was to buy a car in England with UK plates how do I go about insuring it etc? Is there any restriction on the amount of time the car can be out of the UK? I have drive my car here before and I think the insurance company then told me I had a 4 week limit but I cant really remember.

Or do I just buy an Italian car here and insure it here etc?

Thanks in advance

Buy the care there as you'll only have to matriculate an English plated car after six months and officially export it, so why go through that hassle?

I used to have a car in Menorca but got rid as it worked out cheaper to hire a car once all bills and running costs were accounted for
