hotels Lake District

Hi , we are of to the Lake District next month , can anyone recommend any good Hotels with good food, in the Buttermere area .

I know it isnt in buttermere, but i live just south of windermere, and can vouch for a beautiful place in grasmere (not far). Its called the jumble rooms - google it they have a website for directions etc, as well, if you are approaching from the M6 J36 there is a very very nice pub called the masons arms which is on the levens side of cartmel fell. The scenery there is amazing if you get a good days weather!! Highly recommended. Or the Brown Horse at a small place called Wynnster.

ahem, cockermouth is nowhere near asmuch of a st hole as barrow! hahahaha

But yeah point taken - it is a decent night out though as long as you dont speak to any girls. No matter how attractive when they open their mouths they sound like gutter tramps!
