I'm on the East Coast of Oz and it's all over the news. No sign of big waves so far though!

I was watching the skynews coverage last night and had to smile to my self.
They were throwing everything at the coverage to make it exciting etc.
The 1st expert said waves 25/30 feet high were EXPECTED.
Then nearly an hour after the expected arrival time the 2nd expert said no -poss about 1ft.
Cue disappointed from sky and coverage stops

Yep, all he saw was a few slightly larger than normal waves and the sea retreated slightly more than normal. He was gutted!

He HAS to be a teenager. Only one of them could be gutted that hundreds of thousands of people and their livelihoods weren't threatened by nature! wink

We went to Thailand 3 days after the 2004 tsunami - offered cancellation, but just rearranged the beach part from Krabi to Koh Samui
