Have spent the last few weeks browsing various family holiday options for summer this year. We plan to go away for 2 weeks mid-late July and are looking for a relaxing, quality family holiday following on from our crazy (but enjoyable) 2 weeks in Florida last Oct.

We wanted to peg our max distance at no more than 10-12 hrs flight and don't want to go anywhere that's mega hot (no more than 30 ish max).

We started off thinking about Mauritius but in July that looks to be too cold going by the temp charts. We then turned attention to Carribean but there is so much choice we've not come across an obvious "we want to go there" type places. We looked at the Beaches resorts and they are still a defo possibility, albeit they look a bit dear for what they are. A friend recommended Hilton Rose Hall in Jamiaca and in fariness it looks pretty good and is also an option.

We don't want to default to a Disney Orlando annual pilgramage although we do plan to go every few years, so heading back to Florida isn't really an option.

We looked around the destinations a bit closer to home but Greece/Turkey/Egypt/Cyprus etc will probs be a bit hot for the kids in mid-July. We've done Algarve/Canaries/Spain including private villas etc in the past more than once and fancy somewhere else a little bit more exotic.

We've even started looking at the option of a Med/Carribean cruise which has further confused things!

Sorry for the long post but I'd be interested to hear any recommendations for a good family holiday from the PH gang. For info, kids are 9, 5 & 2 1/2 and I don't really want to spend more than 10K for the fortnight.

Nice and easy this one, got to be Beaches Turks & Caicos, great for kids and plenty to do for the bigger kids, fab food, great weather etc etc

did it about 8 years ago (2 years on the bounce)loved every minute of it, wife happened to bump into the manager one day and mentioned how helpful the staff were and how pleased we were with everything, by the time she got back to our rooms there was a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberrys waiting for us, with a personal note thanking us for taking the time to acknowledge the high level of service we had received. Had to admit this was reasonably impressive and totally unexpected. However it did sum up the overall standard of the whole place

My father recently did a Med. cruise and thoroughly enjoyed it. The ship was very comfortable and had plenty to do on-board. The ship also went to many interesting places as well, thus allowing you to explore new towns/cities.

Have you thought about the south of France? should have a lovely climate in the summer months smile
