Hi all,

Planning a trip in the summer, about 2 weeks. Live Bournemouth way and ultimately want to get to Aberdeen half way through to see friends. I have 4 kids 7 down to 6 months so will want to break the journey up well and find things to do that they will enjoy. Looking for suggestions of places to stop along the way, either overnight or for a day or so. Only really want to do a make of 4-5 hours traveling in a day if we can.

Cheers

Perthshire is a lovely place with lots to see and do. About an hour North of Glasgow leaving another 2 or so hours drive to Aberdeen

I go to Creiff Hydro quite a bit. Child care is included in the cost which can mean a good bit of relaxing for yourself in the Spa, golf course or bar.

There are usually deals to be had mid week, as bellow

They also do lodges if you want to go self catering

I always like Chester as a stop off when going South. Zoo is good for Kids + the Swimming pool is good fun.
Its also a good place just to wander about.

Looks like its about mid way for your road trip too.

How about Bristol on the way up?

Only about 2 hours from Bmth, and some good places to go.

WOW Terzo, nice, but would probably blow the holiday budget in 2 nights! :O We will be going in July.

Chester, will look into that, Bristol - got family near so have done that quite well.

Suggestions in the Lake District area and Scotland would be cool biggrin

Bristol isn't exaclty on the way and is a tedious cross country drive from Bournemouth.

So you'll probably have to stop twice - maybe the Peak District and Lake District?
