The mrs and the little un (boy aged 7), are wanting to go to eygpt. Now I've been before, but to Narma, and I was wondering if anyone could comment on other red sea locations such as Dahab.

What would be the best holiday for a youngish family. R&R for me and the mrs, and plenty to entertain Mrs IJ.

You'll get plenty of entertainment watching each other as the schitzenspitz works its way around you...

I have heard that the Wark Warner run Intercontinental in Abu Soma is good for families - especially if you like Kite/Windsurfing...

A few years ago I tried El Gouna, which is a tourist village to the north of Hurghada. There is no haggling, beggars, dodgy taxis etc. which is a good thing - since most resorts have a lot of Egyptians out to rip tourists off.

Dahab is cheap and a bit backpackery. Very relaxed place and its not as bad as somewhere like Sharm. Are you going to relax or to dive?

We liked it, although it wasn't exclusively Mark Warner and the Russians were a pain if entertaining for people watching.

Dahab is getting more developed but is more relaxed than Sharm and the diving is fantastic.
