Hi all
The missus and I get married back home in the lakes in 2-3 weeks but we've not yet sorted a holiday out for afterwards
Ideas we've had so far:
2-3 nights in Paris (we're not far from ashford intnl)
2-3 nights somewhere in bonny scotland i.e. a bit further up the M6
It'll probably be mon/tues/wed so hopefully not too wallet-raping!
Anyone got any good advice?
Cheers

If you fancy the trip up to Scotland then anywhere along the Caledonian Canal is lovely, which takes in Loch Oich, Loch Lochy and Loch Ness. Nothing better than some haggis and nips, plus there is a lovely hotel with awesome food on Loch Oich called Glengarry Castle which you could stay as a base.

(Oh and a little word of warning if anyone fancies playing a bit of language games. I was talking about having a minimoon after my marriage through Italy on the way back from getting married in Greece. As the other half is Greek and so are her parents I speak a mixture of the two languages and thus tried to say minimoon in Greek by using the standard option of making anything small by ending with "aki", but didn't know moon so just used as is.
Unfortunately "moonaki" doesn't translate too well in Greek and it turns out it is incredibly insulting and translates as small c*** - pretty embarrassing and the look on the wife's face was priceless as well as completely scalding)

We have decided to do 3 nights in Lisbon Portugal. Managaged to get a really good deal with flights (a proper airline )and a genuine 5 star hotel right in the centre from last minute.
There are a couple of threads on here about Lisbon but so far from the reaserch I have done it seems like a good spot for our mini-moon.
