Bosnia and Serbia Family Holiday

This summer we are thinking of driving to Croatia spending a few days along the Dalmation coast and then driving through Bosnia and Serbia up into Hungary.

Can anyone recommend some places to see or has anyone been on holiday there in the last few years and can tell me what to expect and if they are suitable countries to visit with my family.
