Flights to Florida....they seem to have gone up a bit...
Discussion
....since I went in the summer of 2008.
That year I booked late in July to go to Orlando (Direct from Manchester) two weeks later in August, with Virgin. It cost me about £2,400 for three tickets, but I expected that booking late, and at the time a couple of months notice would have got me the same tickets for a little over £1,500.
To the point. I'm now trying to book 3 seats for this August and can barely get a ticket under £1,000 each, and then it's a change or overnight stop over. I've booked loads of holidays and flights so I'm sure I'm lookimng in the right places. It it me, or is it a combination of fuel/tax prices, plus a bit of inflation, or am I just not looking in the right places?
Cheers folks.

They've not gone up, your ££ is worth less.
££ has fallen in value by about 25% in the past 18 months.
Put it this way, a $1200 flight purchased 18 months ago would have been about £610.
The very same $1200 flight purchased now would cost £810.
This coupled with higher oil prices.
It's still $1200, the price hasn't changed. It's just your ££ is worth less.
These things take a while to filter through as travel companies/airlines hedge currency and fuel, so it often takes a while for the exchange rates to make a significant difference.
