I am booking a return flight on Easyjet and need to take 1 bag to go in the hold. According to their website, this costs £18. Is that £18 per leg of the journey, or for the outgoing and return flights? I assume it's per leg of the journey, in which case do I check 'there are 1 passengers checking in 2 bags' which looks to me like I am taking 2 bags on one leg of the journey? If not, how do I specify that I am taking 1 bag on each leg of the journey? It isn't at all clear, unless I am going mad.....

I think it realises you will be taking 1 bag out and one back, and when you go on to the next page it'll effectively add this to the return leg, then add a random number and call it taxes and it will then add another random number and call it credit card charge (but I can only pay by credit card on the internet I hear you cry) and there is your prices, about x500 the advertised price.

Only a guess, I have not tried with Easyjet but others are similar to the above.

Thanks Mark, but I have just tried that and selecting one bag, only adds £18 to the bill :

so I am still unsure whether to 'check' that I am adding 2 bags, or will this mean they think I am taking 2 bags in one direction?

I have booked with Easyjet before, but can't remember how I sorted the luggage issue. Of course, there doesn't seem to be any way of calling them, and sending an email gets an automatic response that they will get back to me 'in the coming days' Grrr......

The charge is per booking, so you only need to select the single bag option. thumbup

It's £18 per handle on the baggage. so if you've got a 4 handle case, with a luggage tab too (+£15) it's £4563429.

Worry not - it's £18 for the whole return trip for 1 bag smile

Cheers all. You are faster to respond and more informative than Easyjet!
