Luxury hotel in Northern England.

Myself and SWMBO are planning a very quick, one night getaway for next weekend, most likely to Yorkshire as it is not too far a drive from Lincs.
Criteria is fantastic food, luxurious accomodation, nice Spa type facilities and not overly 'arsey'.
We had hoped to stay at the Feversham Arms in Helmsley but unfortunately we missed out due to them filling up in the space of a morning!

Been here a couple of times. 'Tis rather nice, but getting a tad pricey now since it got the spa done.

Try the Crab and LobsterHas good food, good quirky accommodation, lacking in Spa but several rooms have Hottubs....
if Spa is important....
Rockcliffe Hall (new set up and a write in the Sunday Times said room choice was important)
Or Seaham Hall
or Slaley Hall.

Right in the Troph of Bowland , not far from Yorkshire really . Nice place set in stunning countryside

This place is nice. Went there May last year. Fair old trek from down south. I think it had just been revamped and was in the process of being sold then.

I live in Hlemsley - Try the Black Swan in Helmsley and use the Fev spa - you can book it without being a resident. Food wise I wouldn't eat in either, I'd go to the Star Inn at Harome - 2 minute drive. The food is better - if very rich. You do need to book in advance though as there is a waiting list.
