Kings Rd area, of a weekend, with the family.
Discussion
Last time I was in the area it was good for shopping as you head down (up) towards Sloane Sq. I think I'm staying down towards New Kings Rd over a weekend shortly and I'll be leaving the gf with the kids for the day
She is utterly useless at directions so I'm thinking keep her fairly close to the hotel!
What is there to do for a lost woman and two kids in the area? The alternative is to find anything worthwhile on the District Line as it's only 5 mins from the hotel.

This is pretty close:

All sorts of family events on in the summer (starts next weekend, handily)

If I was in your situation. Chuck them a tenner and put them in a cab to Westfield.
This solves any weather issues, places to eat issues, getting lost (although you can easily get lost in Westfield!), no issues with the volume of shops etc
The problem with kings road, IMO is that along with the usual upmarket high street shops it also has too many chic bespoke places that are not exactly going to take you to get bored of. I suppose there is a Peter Jones and Harrods in only a stones throw away in Knightsbridge!

my link is to the wetlands centre, MC. Westfield is no place for kids.
I should have mentioned, they're daughters and they adore shopping...It is losing its character a bit since the greediness of the Cadogan Estate is driving the quirky independents out in favour of well-heeled chains.
However as a friend said years ago, "There's always someone to laugh at on the King's Road". It's still largely true.
Good for celeb spotting too. I saw Diana Rigg in M&S. She looked like a shrunken head.

Ah yes, and food. I need to seriously mega carb up on the Saturday night. Are there plenty of cheap and cheerful pizza joints in the area? I need large thick crust with extra garlic bread
No. People (or at least wimmin) in Chelsea don't eat. Ever.
And absolutely nothing in the area is cheap. 'Paul' the local patisserie sells 12 tiny cakes each the size of your thumbnail for £15.
If you have transport then head over Wandsworth Bridge for a Maccy D's.
