Berlin - where to go?
Discussion
And is there any cool car stuff?
I'm not interested in the war, cold war or Jewish museums. I would actually like to experience things I think of when I think of Germany (technology, cars, modernism) so I've already earmarked the Technik museum and the Bauhaus School. I'd be interested in pretty much all suggestions of where to go/see/do but I can't seem to see much car-related stuff in Berlin. I know all the major manufacturers aren't based there but thought there might be some sort of private collection or car dealership specialising in 300SLs and 507s or something.

architecture wise, the olympic stadium is pretty cool, as is the jewish museum (though I didn't go in, having already been to auschwitz etc. and the war museum in minsk. if you want to see the horrors of war, soviets do not pull any punches).
the jewish memorial next to brandenburg tor is worth walking through, makes you feel very lost/lonely. there is a thoroughly decent kebab shop behind it as well
take the u-bahn (u2) from zoo station to the tv tower, popping up at intervals to witness the change from 30s grandeur in charlottenburg through postmodern potzdammer platz and onto brutalist communism in the old russian quarter.
along this route you'll find stillwerk - a mall full of design led shops - and the kaiser willhelm church at kurfurstendamm which is left in partial ruin as a war memorial.
the neues museum is supposed to be very worthwhile, though it hadnt opened when i was there. facing opposite, on unter den lintern, you'll see a hotel. use the side entrance to find a classic german coffee/cake shop. the choice is unreal, though its a tad pricey (but worth it).
the kino babylon shows german films (classic dietrich etc) but has had its weimar era interior fully restored - worth a look maybe?
there's the chrysler museum of contemporary art and the berlin film museum near tiergarten, and you should take a trip to potsdam for a wonder around. known as berlin's versailles, its a nice change from the centre (berlin is not a pretty city)
as you see, I love berlin. if you want nightlife tips just let me know. I'd thoroughly recommend the timeout shortlist guide to berlin - far better than the rest.
lastly, if wanting to go up the tv tower or the reichstag, go early. and avoid currywurst as its f

just reread your post. the technik museum is about as good as it gets for automobilia, though there is much more to berlin than nazi/ddr relics & museums.
I think the old airport has a museum dedicated to the airlift with old us airforce planes etc.
as for car dealers, I guess that would be googleable.
