Scenic road to Hull from Manchester

I am going from Manchester to Hull tonight, but the motorway are very straight and very boring. Does anyone know of a better route which is a bit prettier than M62.

Just reread the tital . . .. reverse these!

M62 - M1 - Woodhead pass - manchester

or

A64 - A19 - A63 - M1 - woodhead - Manchester

I was going to suggest going via York, the road from York to Hull is quite good apart from some of the lorries
