I'm looking for a weeks holiday about 2 hrs flying time from the UK.
Last week of August, and thinking of Spain, Italy.

I've never been to either before so I have no idea where is family friendly.
My kids are 8 and nearly 5 years old, and to be honest I want a brain numbing chill out do nothing particular type of holiday. We did a round world type one last year and did a cultural Rhodes trip in April, so relaxation and good beaches are the order for this one.

What I'd like is high quality apartments/hotels with suites near to a good beach with a not too long transfer time.

Any help and ideas and preferably recommendations would be greatly appreciated and it'll get the wife of my back... smile

Cheers.

How big is your chequebook? smile

I've done a couple of Mark Warner holidays in the past, and awful man that I am, palming your kids off for a day's activities while you burn yourself to a crisp in the sun is ace. Food was always good. Corsica is nice too.

And yes Madeleine McCann went missing from a Mark Warner place

That Corsica looks nice, price isn't too bad either.
Cheers.

I can recommend their Lakitira Hotel on Kos as well. Nice quality rooms and they do interconnecting rooms for the kids which are great. And it's only a 15 minute transfer

That looks nice, too.
However, I'm struggling to justify nearly £4k for a weeks holiday that is only supposed to be a 'sitting on the beach doing naff all before back to skule' type holiday.
Are Mark Warners really THAT good?

Change of tack but someone mentioned to me about Menorca being child friendly?
What I don't want is hoards of single sex groups of piss heads near me (like, I assume, parts of Benidorm?)

The other thing is my kids are very well behaved so I don't need somewhere that is particularly set up for kids, (i.e kidz klubz) but just somewhere that will happily accomodate them in actual beds as
opposed to settees.

Ta.

Ah, I've not had to suffer their "term time" prices yet.

I've been looking too

Turkey seems a fair bet but check with Trip Advisor because some of their 5 star AI places sound well orrid.

Can't see the point in going on holiday WITH the family to pass them on to strangers, I want to be part of them have a good time in the pool/beach etc.
