The Maldives in November?
Discussion
Newly aquired girlfriend wants a holiday together and is suggesting the Maldives, the best time for me would be around October/November.
What's the place like in general and what's it like at that time of year? I've been told it's horrendously expensive, is it all like that or does it depend on which area you go to to a large extent?

We spent about £5k in total for 10 days there in a beach hut (on Komandoo), flew with Emirates in economy, no scuba diving or trips off the island, to give you some idea. You're usually at the mercy of the island you're on so I'd suggest going at least full board.
I think the temperature is a fairly consistent ~30C all year round, it's just whether you'll get much rain that varies. I think roughly November til March is their summer so it's probably a good time to go.

Christ - £2850 for 12 nights AI with dreamticket in a water villa last august in komandoo. Having been though, I would still pay £5k as the place is heavenI think the temperature is a fairly consistent ~30C all year round, it's just whether you'll get much rain that varies. How long does newly acquired mean?
8 weeks maybe, but things are going really well.Been 3 times now, costs varied from 2 weeks all inclusive at £1150 each in September on Kuramathi to around £3k each when we went 1/2 board for 2 weeks to a better resort in November.
You can still get 2 weeks AI for under £1500 each in October if you shop around nearer the time. You'd have to be willing to fly charter which I won't ever again!!

New girlfriend plus Maldives? You better hope nothing goes wrong because the 2 of you will be stuck on a tiny island for a very long time!
Weather wise - November can be hit or miss. It's just the end of the rainy season - meaning short sharp showers, but still plenty of sun.
I've been there in September, October and November and never had a more than a day of rain per two week stint. You get the odd shower, but it passes quickly. It rains a lot in the Maldives from May through to December ( much more than in the UK), but it really will not affect your holiday unless you are desperately unlucky.Weather wise - November can be hit or miss.
