What are Sundays like in Spanish towns and cities? Is it a bit like France where most stuff is shut? Was thinking about spending a day or 2 in Bilbao but would get there fairly early Sunday AM and don't want to be stuck with nothing at all to do when I arrive.

Gugenheim Museum is great, just don't leave anything in your car. It WILL get stolen.

Having spoken to a few people who have been there I think we're going to skip Bilbao and head straight to San Sebastian instead smile

If you are going straight to San Sebastian then a must in the evening after 7pm not sure about Sunday though is to go to the Casco Viejo and go into the various Tapas bars where the very best Tapas / Pinchos are served in the whole of Spain, and make sure that you take a camera with you.
