1 - 2hrs From Calais: Places to Stay

Guys,

We're due to arrive in Calais about 7pm for the start of our jaunt across Europe in a couple of weeks. Any recommendations on where to stay for the first night? I'm thinking if we arrive at 7pm I dont want to be driving much longer than 2 hours to a hotel. The following days we're planning on heading over to Germany and eventually down over the alps to Italy.

Any recommendations would be great. Also if anyone has done a similar trip and general recommendations would be appreciated.

St Omer or Boulogne.

They're about the nicest towns close to Calais.

Either's nice - sounds like St O's more in the direction you'd like to go in.

Tripadvisor will suggest plenty of options for zzz's.

Just a belated thanks for your recommendation. We ended up staying here on the way home before heading back to Calais. Really enjoyed it, has to be the best wine list i've ever seen!
