3 Nights in Venice. Ideas?
Discussion
Planning on a long weekend in Venice during November.
Sorted the flights and I am 90% sure on the hotel I am going to book.
Any general advice or must-sees while we are there. We are a couple in our 20's. Like the usual food, drink, culture.
Flying into Treviso. Any advice on getting to the centre from there?
Cheers,

I was in Venice several years ago, so bars/restaurants may have changed so no point in giving specifics even if I could remember, but one thing we did was get off the tourist route and head into the real locals Venice.
We found a small bar up a side street out of the way, great food and much cheaper for drinks.
And as a bonus in November it should be cool weather-wise so the canals shouldn't be too smelly!

Any advice? Start saving. I went there with my wife in March and even though we were there for 1 day and 1 night, we spent over 500 Euros on food, drink, transport and passes. It's probably the most expensive place on earth but was well worth it and I can't wait to go back some time.
Go to St Marks Square first thing in the morning before the crowds. It can get ridiculously crowded there at peak tourist times.
As mentioned, many of the back street restaurants are a lot better. We found one in the north of the city that served the best Tiramisu I've ever eaten.
There is a little patisserie to the side of the Rialto bridge that sells amazing Cannoli.
The water bus is worth catching even if you don't need it to go anywhere. We jumped on for an hour and it did a full circle of the city and was a great way to see stuff that's hidden away.
