My wife and I will be spending two weeks near Domfront at the beginning of September and was wondering if anyone could offer advise on things to do and see in this area. Our normal trips to France are usually much further south, Provence or the Dordogne, this will be our first time to Normandy.

I am also a keen fly fisherman and was wondering if it would be worth taking a rod with me.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hello. I am currently holidaying very close to Domfront with my family. I have been coming here for 8 years now as we have a small place over here. I shall pop into the Tourist info office and pick up some leaflets for you which I can post on to you when I return on 15th.
If this is any use please send me contact details.
Off the top of my head Bagnoles les Orne is a top place for a meal and even a casino if that floats your boat.
We are only a very enjoyable 1 1/4 hour drive to Le Mans which is why we stay here every year.I have noticed over the years that quite a few couples seem to stay at Bagnoles so that the men go to the race whilst their wives sample the spas, saunas and shopping before they meet up for evening meals.
Wishing you a pleasant trip.
Michael

Hello Michael and many thanks for your kind offer. The house that we are renting does apparently have an extensive library of things to do and see, but the tourist information centre will be one of our first ports of call. The link you gave is also very useful. Once again many thanks and enjoy the rest of your hols.
