Morning all - after some advice on Gulet cruising in Turkey.

Currently looking at one week - end of september.

Anyone done this? Can reccomend a decent boat / company / cruise?

We'd prefer to book it all as a package from the UK rather than get there and have to haggle etc.

So any hints / tips / advice?

Cheers

Can’t given any real advice, sorry. We did it 20 years ago, when my future wife & I did it for 2 weeks and it was fantastic. I remember us discussing that if we ever have kids we’d love to return with them.
Fast forward 20 years & later today we’re off to Turkey for a weeks Gulet cruise & 1 week on land. The off spring (13 & 15) are all really looking forward to it too.
We booked it a while back through a local travel agent & unfortunately I can’t remember the company who we’re going with (I’m at work at the mo)! The week on the Gulet is advertised as ‘all inclusive’ (food) but drinks are extra!
More than happy to give a report & pictures when we return, but that’ll be some 2 weeks off.

Can't vouch for their "Gulet" cruises, but I have used these guys TOP YACHT to book yacht Charter through in Turkey and they will arrange the lock stock two smoking barrels for you as you requested.

I suspect it may be a bit more personal too than a Thomson version ?
Thanks P&M tried these guys but unfortunatly they only do whole gulet tours rather than on a per cabin basis.

Also try Tapestry Holidays, I can't remember if they are whole boats or partial but I have used them for other holidays and rate them highly.

One of my top 3 best ever holidays.

Unfortunately I was only 15 at the time so my parents planned everything. All I remember is that we started the cruise in Antalya and sailed west in the direction of Bodrum. Great food and glorious scenery.

Would love to go again someday.

Returned on Monday evening from our trip to Turkey, can’t really go into details at the moment as we’ve lodged a claim in against the tour operator.
Let’s say the Gulet we initially boarded was full of faults & the engine seized after few days at sea.

We had to be rescued by this:-

Nice, but at 2k per day not cheap either

Ah.

Not brilliant then. Woudl you be able to PM me the name of the tour operater / cruise details just to ensure we're not in the middle of booking with them aswell!

O/T -

Looking a the Rescue Yacht website and photos, I have always assumed the below decks Cabins to be simply 'ok' -
Do I assume the cabin shown is the exception to rule (i.e. one like that per boat) and the majority of the cabins on board are more 'pokey' ?
You are correct!
