We need value, location and reasonable quality. We are doing a 4 night, 5 day stay soon and plan on taking in some of the great restaurants and some sights.

I will be eating at Bibbendum on Fulham Road SW3, Smiths of Smithfield on Charterhouse Street EC1M 6HJ and probably Bob Bob Ricard on Upper James Street W1F 9DF, so we will have to travel.

Any suggestions for a good central location?

Found Premier Inn to be decent value, a bit out in the sticks in Hampstead or closer at Euston. £95 per night.l

Google for serviced apartments, you'll get more for your money than a hotel.

You're eating in those sort of restaurants and yet you're on a tight budget hotel wise?
Try the West Ham UTD hotel,5 mins walk from the underground, free parking, very good size rooms, decent brekkie and you might get a free tour of Upton Park thrown in.

Try the Millennium Chelsea Village at Stamford Bridge as they usually do deals around £100 per night. Nice part of town and it's very handily located for Bibendum (and Bluebird).

Try lastminute.com and look at their Top Secret Hotels. There's a thread on the money saving expert forums that translates the lastminute description into the hotel name for many of them. Some great 4/5 star deals to be had for under a ton.

This.

Did this before and got the Hilton on Park Lane, it was very average but still OK.

There are some very nice hotels on the list.
