Camping in Newquay
Discussion
Life really doesn't get much better does it?!
A few of us have decided to take a trip down to Newquay. We are trying to find somewhere to stay (camping) but everywhere is booked. I am happy to sleep in the car, and not too worried about facilities but still struggling.
Does anyone know of anywhere ideally very close to Newquay that would allow just a car and a tent. Don't think I can bring myself to stop in a layby!

You can do a map search on the same site - you're bound to turn one up. Good luck

Atlantic View always used let in groups, usually in a different field to everyone else. £1 a night per person last time I went in 199...err, a while ago - probably a bit more now! Close enough to Newquay for a shared taxi too.

When we were 18 (half a life time ago...) we (3 males) drove down without accommodation to visit Rock for a long weekend. Had the same problem with no all-male groups.
We ended up here at St Kew on the A39. Charming pair of old dears ran the place and welcome all male groups. Sadly I can't find the place using Google!
There was no bother from us, or others...

18 years ago two old dears ran it? Surely they have popped their clogs?
How about this place:

Seem to recall it was a bit chav-tastic, and cars had to be in a different field to the actual camping. They needed a massive damage deposit before confirming the booking as well, which was different. Got some very odd looks when I actually made myself a proper fried breakfast (rather than staggering off to the shop) on a single burner stove as well - cooking bacon smells wafting over hungover/drunk/confused people always gets a reaction of one sort or another!
...although I got slightly odder looks turning up in a field full of plastic kit saxo/106 abominations with an 850 T5 estate, "Nice car grandad!" etc etc...!

Again this place required 4 days Just outside Newquay. Seemed okay if fairly basic when stayed there a couple of years ago for brother's stag do. large group of guys just cars & tents; on their website seem to encourage groups etc. run a shuttle bus into town

Anyway, stayed in the Monkey Tree place. Full of families, blagged our way in. I hated it! But was cheap and somewhere to sleep and a taxi into town was perfectly reasonable.
All in all a good mini trip!

Stayed here about 6 years ago - never ever again, Caravan was downright filthy and damp, The fire extinguisher had been used up, The security on site are bullies and walk around with their knuckles scraping along the floor, and one of the staff ran an illegal taxi service from the site to the centre of Newquay.
It was the middle of summer so we were worried we couldn't find alternative accommodation, so put up with this s

We complained but tbh they couldn't give a flying feck'
If anyone goes here you'll regret it big time.
