Hi everyone

Does anyone have any experience of car hire at Dublin Airport please?

We normally go for the "golf" sized car but other airports usually provide a Renault instead. I see at Dublin the Corolla seems to be mentioned but they seem to have 1.3 engines and it seems a bigger car than the Auris. The Focuses look like 1.4s from what I can tell from most websites. The other potential annoyance is when car hire companies upgrade you to a gas-guzzling mondeo.

I would be tempted to drop down a group into the Fiesta sized but I am not sure I fancy the Yaris (they have improved a lot from how they used to be though) and not the Hyundai Getz whatever that is. Does anyone know what they actually have there and if they are 2 or 4 door models? We've tried asking the companies involved but they are rather vague!

All comments and opinions welcome!
Thanks a lot.

Kudos

Surely not particularly relevant to Dublin airport...could be anywhere.

If it helps, prepare to pay top whack, Dublin is pricey

i've used hertz there quite a bit, they have been very good. once gave me a 1 series despite me being too young for it officialy, and then last time iI went had got me a crappy old Passat which i swapped for a brand new polo, less money too. If you're not happy with the car they can swap them quite easily.

they had loads of the polos so i imagine that is the car in the "fiesta size" range. they also have some fiat 500s. most cars they have are bottom of the range and smallest engine, though.

Thanks a lot for this. It's good to know they actually do have Polos there and that the staff are flexible.

Cheers
